My husband and I first visited the Oregon Coast in the summer of 2013. Five months later we had put our home in California up for sale, purchased a home here, and were happily packing and making our move. There was so much that drew us to the area. The incredible beauty of the sea and the forest appealed to us as we had always enjoyed getting away from the city to hike or bike in nature. Selling our oversized home in California allowed us to buy a sweet little beach cottage that was more in line with our lives as our children had grown and moved out and my husband retired from teaching. We love spending time in our little garden and especially watching the bird feeder. Living in a rural area makes for visits from all sorts of woodland creatures, including our resident squirrels and chipmunks.
My first job on the coast was with a vacation rental management company. I learned so much about the area, the homes, what makes a great investment home, and the rules and regulations involved in having a vacation rental. After five years in the industry, two of which I also worked in real estate part time, I transitioned into real estate full time. The experience I gained allows me to really help clients who are looking for an investment opportunity — from finding a home, to advising on what makes a popular rental, to sharing and suggesting management options.
Because I understand how exciting and wonderful it can be to move here I also love working with people to help them find just the right house for them. I have had the pleasure of working with first time buyers making the transition from renting to owning, retirees looking for that special place near the ocean and people moving here for career and family reasons. I have also enjoyed working with those who are looking to sell their homes. I am happy to say that being an agent with Martek Real Estate means that my listings get the advantage of excellent advertising on all of the major websites and much more.
I would love the opportunity to talk with you and hear what your real estate plans and dreams are, and how we might work together to achieve them.
