The Chamber of Commerce visited OFF THE HOOK restaurant for an Ambassador Showcase one Friday morning and it was the first time I had been in the restaurant. I had watched it being built over the past year but had never ventured inside so didn’t know what I was missing.
The owner, Rob Hoefs, and head chef Chad Liane have been life long friends. In 1992 it was a life long dream of Rob and his father to build the restaurant. In June of 2017, that dream became a reality along with the Newport Candy Factory the following week.
The restaurants offers a very nice lunch and dinner menu with selection with daily specials. One of their specialties is their Prime Rib which is served every Friday and Saturday evening. The nice thing about eating at Off the Hook is that everything is fresh. No frozen foods are served there and they make everything from scratch. It is a very family oriented restaurant, yet there is a bar area as well. There are multiple TV screens for the sports enthusiasts and you to linger and watch as long as you like
The restaurant is located at 3211 S. Coast Hwy which is just over the Yaquina Bay Bridge across from LaQuinta and they are open 11 am – 9pm Sunday through Thursday and from 11 am – 10 pm.
