Sounds of the Sea

Sea Shell

When people think of life on the Oregon coast, it’s often the sound of the sea that is so calming and soothing.  The fresh sea air makes you take a deep breath and relax and that’s what coastal living is all about.

I listed a unique house 7 minutes North of Newport, at 11664 SE Avery, near Beverly Beach State Park.   It is currently a vacation rental but would be a wonderful year round home as well.   There is a master on the main floor with a full bath and there is another bedroom on the main at the opposite end of the house.  The kitchen is beautiful with granite counter tops, a nice dining area, living room with a wood stove insert, and a half bath all on the main floor.  The other bedroom and full bath is upstairs.  In addition to that there is a large loft area with futons for additional sleeping, reading, or hanging out.  Above the garage is another huge game room with pool table, TV, table for playing cards or working puzzles and an doubles as an extra sleeping area.  This house is great for large gatherings, parties, with room for all.

The most unique feature about the Avery Street house is on the third level.  Some people refer to this area as a cupola or crows nest.  It is a room, surrounded by glass and has the best ocean view!  As you walk up the stairs into this room it is as though you are listening to your music player set to surf sounds.  It is also the same sound you hear when you put a large conk shell to your ear and hear the sound of the ocean swirling round and round.

This house is comfortable to live on the first floor yet provides the extra space for all the visitors you will surely get when you live at the beach.  Although you are only a short distance from walking on the beach, this house allows you to hear the roar of the ocean 24-7.

Sounds of the Sea can be heard 24/7 from the crows next
